We aim to restore individual choice and connection for collective healing and radical care, promoting social change by centring embodied and archival practices as transformative tools. It is the act of movement and fostering community that helps us forge relationships with ourselves and others.
OUR BEGINNING
In 2024, the Body is Home initiative was developed based on the personal experience of its founder, Asha Edwin, who sought to explore the breadth of wellness and its impact on well-being, informed by her experiences as a yoga teacher, training and running her first marathon.

OUR PROGRESS
Through this, we challenge notions of intimacy, pleasure, displacement, resilience, and representation, explore the meaning of ‘home,’ and examine how we define, affirm, and challenge our individual and collective identities through participation in and reimagination of movement and community and their impact on wellbeing.

OUR MISSION
The Body is Home envisions a future where every individual feels a sense of connection and belonging within their own body and within their community. We strive to cultivate a society that honours and celebrates diverse human experiences, where the concept of 'home' extends beyond physical spaces to include a deep and meaningful relationship with one's body, safety, choice, and surroundings.
